Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. soft butter
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda

Method

  • Cream butter; add sugar, vanilla and egg; beat until light. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Chill until firm enough to roll.
  • Half dough; roll each half on floured waxed paper into 12 x 9-inches.
  • Spread with filling; roll tightly from end.
  • Wrap in paper; chill overnight.
  • Slice 1/8-inch thick.
  • Bake at 375° for approximately 10 minutes.
