Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 lb. shelled pecans
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 lb. dates
Method
- Cream sugar and margarine; add egg yolks one at a time, then add vanilla.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Then sift over nuts and dates.
- Mix this to cream mixture.
- Last, add 4 stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Pour into greased tube pan.
- Bake at 250° for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
- Cool in pan.
