Ingredients

  • 2 qt. chopped cucumbers
  • 2 c. chopped sweet green peppers
  • 2 c. chopped sweet red peppers
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 qt. cold water
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 2 tsp. whole allspice
  • 2 tsp. whole cloves
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed

Method

  • Combine cucumbers, peppers, onion and turmeric.
  • Dissolve salt in cold water and pour over vegetables.
  • Let stand 3 to 4 hours. Drain.
  • Cover vegetables with cold water and let stand 1 hour. Drain thoroughly.
