Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. regular oats, uncooked
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
Method
- Cream butter in a large mixing bowl, gradually add sugar, beating well.
- Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
- Sift together flour, soda and salt in a small mixing bowl; stir into creamed mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in oats and walnuts.
- Drop by teaspoon, 3 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from cookie sheets, and cool on wire racks.
- Yields 10 dozen.
- Note:
- One cup flaked coconut may be added to batter.
