Ingredients

  • 2/3 lb. ground turkey
  • 1/3 lb. mild Italian sausage
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. chopped Italian parsley
  • 1/4 c. chopped white onion
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 c. Newcastle Brown Ale
  • 2/3 c. chicken broth

Method

  • Using hands, combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, celery salt, pepper and egg in a mixing bowl. Shape into four 1/2 in. thick patties. Dip each into flour and saute in a chicken fryer over medium heat in heated oil for 10-12 minutes. Remove from pan and place on warm plate.
  • Dissolve 1 tbsp cornstarch in cold water. Drain all but 1 tbsp drippings from pan and stir in cornstarch/water. Cook 1 minute over medium heat. Stir in ale and broth and cook for about 3 minutes until lightly thickened and bubbly. Spoon sauce over steaks and serve to friends or family.
