Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 c. Wheaties Honey Gold cereal
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Heat shortening and chocolate chips in a 3-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in cereal and nuts until well coated.
  • Firmly press in ungreased square pan, 9 x 9 x 2-inch.
  • Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm.
  • Cut into about 1 1/2-inch squares. Store in refrigerator.
  • Makes 3 dozen snacks.
