Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine, softened
  • 1 (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • pecan halves or cherries

Method

  • Cream butter and cream cheese.
  • Slowly add sugar and egg yolk. Beat until fluffy.
  • Add flour and vanilla.
  • Chill dough at least 1 hour.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Gently press a pecan half or cherry in center of each ball.
  • Bake at 325° for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Yields approximately 4 dozen.
