Ingredients
- 1 c. margarine, softened
- 1 (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- pecan halves or cherries
Method
- Cream butter and cream cheese.
- Slowly add sugar and egg yolk. Beat until fluffy.
- Add flour and vanilla.
- Chill dough at least 1 hour.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on greased cookie sheet.
- Gently press a pecan half or cherry in center of each ball.
- Bake at 325° for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Yields approximately 4 dozen.
