Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 c. orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp. orange peel
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. cranberries
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Mix together
  • flour,
  • sugar,
  • baking
  • powder,
  • salt and baking soda.
  • Stir
  • in
  • orange
  • juice, orange peel, shortening and egg. Mix
  • well. Stir
  • in
  • cranberries
  • and nuts.
  • Grease bottom only of 9 x 5-inch pan; bake at 350° for 55 minutes or until done. Cool on rack 15 minutes.
  • Makes one loaf.
