Ingredients
- 1 cut-up chicken
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 c. Crisco
Method
- Season and flour chicken.
- Heat Crisco in a large pan.
- When hot, add chicken.
- Brown chicken on both sides.
- Remove from pan. Remove all Crisco from pan, except about 1 tablespoon.
- Put 3 teaspoons of flour in pan.
- Brown the flour.
- Pour 1 cup of water in pan.
- Stir until thick.
- Put chicken back in pan and cover. Leave in pan until ready to serve.
