Ingredients

  • 4 ears fresh corn (unhusked)
  • 1 c. (2 sticks) butter
  • 4 green onions, minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme, crumbled
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled
  • 1/2 c. dry white wine
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice

Method

  • Cover corn with cold water in large bowl and soak overnight. Prepare barbecue (low heat).
  • Grill corn until cooked, approximately 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in heavy medium saucepan over low heat.
  • Add green onions, garlic, salt, thyme and bay leaf and stir for 5 minutes.
  • Add wine and lemon juice and cook 2 minutes.
  • Transfer sauce to bowl.
  • Serves 4.
