- 4 corn tortillas oil, for deep-frying
Method
1. Cut each tortilla into 8 pieces.
2. Fill a heavy-based saucepan one-third full of oil and heat to 190°C (375°F) or until a cube of bread dropped into the hot oil browns in 10 seconds. Cook the corn tortillas in batches for 1-2 minutes, or until crisp and golden. Drain on crumpled paper towels. Sprinkle with salt, if desired.
