- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 c. butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. quick cooking oats
- 1 c. crisp rice cereal
- 1 c. flaked coconut
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- In a large mixer bowl combine all ingredients, except oats, rice cereal, coconut and nuts.
- Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often until well mixed (2 to 3 minutes). By hand, stir in all remaining ingredients.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart onto cookie sheets.
- Bake for 13 to 16 minutes or until browned.
- Yields 4 dozen cookies.
