Ingredients

  • 8 c. cabbage
  • 1/4 c. carrot (1 medium)
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Method

  • Shred cabbage and carrot into a large bowl.
  • Mix sugar, salt, pepper, buttermilk, mayonnaise, vinegar and lemon juice in separate bowl.
  • I have found this makes plenty of dressing, you may not want to use all of it.
  • Mix the dressing well into the cabbage mixture.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  • Will be even better the next day.
