Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter (room temperature)
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 pt. (1 c.) commercial sour cream
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts, combined with 1 tsp. cinnamon and 2

Method

  • Combine butter, sugar and eggs.
  • Beat until mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Blend in sour cream.
  • Sift flour with soda and baking powder into the creamed mixture.
  • Add vanilla and blend.
  • Spoon 1/2 batter in 9-inch tube pan which has been buttered and floured. Sprinkle in cinnamon-nut mixture over batter.
  • Spoon the remaining batter in and top with the rest of nut mixture.
  • Place in cold oven; set overn to moderate (350°) and bake about 55 minutes.
  • Serve warm or cool.
  • Makes 8 to 10 servings.
