Ingredients

  • 6 c. bread flour
  • 1 3/4 c. quick oats
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. (piled high) dry milk
  • 1.92 c. (almost 2 c.) water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. yeast
  • raisins (as desired)
  • nuts (as desired)
  • cinnamon (as desired)
  • sugar (as desired)
  • melted margarine (as desired)
  • powdered sugar (as desired)
  • milk (as desired)

Method

  • Mix together all of measured ingredients and knead for 10 minutes by hand.
  • Rest 5 minutes.
  • Split dough in half.
  • Roll dough out on counter or flat surface to about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Brush or pat margarine (melted) over surface of rolled dough.
