- 1 lb. boneless pork, cubed
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 5 oz. can water chestnuts, sliced and drained
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 3/4 c. uncooked long grain rice
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Method
- Brown pork in shortening in skillet.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Place in 2-quart casserole and cover.
- Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
- Remove cover during last 30 minutes.
- Add additional water if necessary.
- Add chow mein noodles to top for the last 5 minutes.
