Ingredients
- 1 gal. green tomatoes
- 2 large bell peppers (can use 1 red pepper)
- 4 onions
- 1/4 c. salt
- 2 heads cabbage
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 2 tsp. pickling spice
Method
- Grind together (or use food processor) the tomatoes, peppers, onions, salt and cabbage.
- Let set.
- Combine sugar, vinegar, celery seed and pickling spice.
- Mix all together in a large pot. Cook over medium heat to a good boil; continue to cook for 5 minutes.
- Pack into hot sterile jars and seal.
- Good with meat or beans.
