Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 4 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 c. raw macaroni (elbow, ditalini, etc.)
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained
  • 8 c. water
  • 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 cans mixed veggies, drained
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

Method

  • Brown beef in Dutch oven. Add onion and garlic.
  • Saute 5 minutes.
  • Pour off fat.
  • Add everything but macaroni. Bring to a boil.
  • Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
  • Add pasta.
  • Cover and cook 15 minutes more. Serve with grated cheese and Italian bread.
