Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Combine flour, cocoa, sugar and salt.
  • Place in heavy skillet. Beat egg yolks and gradually add the milk which has been slightly warmed.
  • Add to flour mixture.
  • Mix thoroughly and cook over medium-low temperature until thickened.
  • Stir to prevent sticking. Cool and pour into prepared pie shell.
  • Top with meringue and slightly brown in 350° oven for about 12 minutes.
