Ingredients

  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/4 c. light cream
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Method

  • Combine chocolate and cream in top of double boiler.
  • Cook over boiling water, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
  • Combine sugar, flour and salt.
  • Add enough hot mixture to make a smooth paste.
  • Combine paste with hot mixture in double boiler.
  • Cook until smooth and slightly thick, about 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add pecans, butter and vanilla.
  • Serve hot or cold.
  • Makes 2 cups.
