Ingredients

  • 6 c. puffed rice
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. chunk-style peanut butter
  • 32 lg. marshmallows
  • 1 (6 ounce.) pkg. chocolate chips

Method

  • Heat puffed rice in shallow pan in preheated oven at 350 degrees about 10 min.
  • Pour into large, greased bowl.
  • Combine butter, peanut butter, and marshmallows in top of double boiler.
  • Heat over warm, not boiling, water till melted.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Pour over puffed rice, stirring till all kernels are proportionately coated.
  • Firmly press half of mix into greased 7 x 11 inch pan.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
  • Place in preheated 350 degree oven 2 to 3 min or possibly till chocolate is softened.
  • Remove from oven; spread chocolate with spatula.
  • Press remaining puffed rice mix over chocolate.
  • Cold; cut into bars.
