Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/2 c. milk (fat-free or 2%)
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • chocolate or vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • dash of salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • chopped nuts

Method

  • Preheat waffle iron. Sift flour, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 cup sugar and cocoa. Separate the yolks and whites. Beat the egg yolks and add 1 1/2 cups milk and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. Beat smooth. Add oil and mix. Beat the egg whites with clean dry beaters until stiff. Then fold into the waffles. Bake in waffle iron. Make the glaze dip.
