Ingredients

  • 2 (12 oz. each) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 8 egg yolks
  • 5 Tbsp. water
  • 1 pt. whipping cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 8 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 2 c. pecans, chopped
  • 2 angel food cakes (9 inches each)
  • 20 red or green cherries

Method

  • Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler.
  • When melted, add 1 egg yolk at time, beating after each yolk is added.
  • Cool.
  • Add 4 or 5 tablespoons of water.
  • Mix whipped cream.
  • Beat 4 egg whites together.
  • Add vanilla and powdered sugar.
  • Fold in chocolate and egg mixture and pecans.
  • Break angel food cake into chunks about the size of eggs.
  • Pour chocolate mixture over cake and refrigerate for 24 hours.
  • Serve with whipped cream and cherries.
