Ingredients
- 2 (12 oz. each) pkg. chocolate chips
- 8 egg yolks
- 5 Tbsp. water
- 1 pt. whipping cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 8 Tbsp. powdered sugar
- 2 c. pecans, chopped
- 2 angel food cakes (9 inches each)
- 20 red or green cherries
Method
- Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler.
- When melted, add 1 egg yolk at time, beating after each yolk is added.
- Cool.
- Add 4 or 5 tablespoons of water.
- Mix whipped cream.
- Beat 4 egg whites together.
- Add vanilla and powdered sugar.
- Fold in chocolate and egg mixture and pecans.
- Break angel food cake into chunks about the size of eggs.
- Pour chocolate mixture over cake and refrigerate for 24 hours.
- Serve with whipped cream and cherries.
