Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Line cookie sheets with foil.
  • Lightly grease foil.
  • Cream butter and sugar in large bowl until light. Add egg; beat until creamy.
  • Stir in vanilla, flour and salt.
  • Add chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Mix until well blended.
  • Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 3-inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are set.
  • (Cookies are soft when hot but become crispy as they cool.)
  • Cool completely on foil, then peel foil from cookies.
  • Makes 2 dozen.
