Ingredients

  • 1 (11 1/2 ounce.) pkg. Nestle lowfat milk chocolate morsels (divide in half)
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
  • 1 (14 ounce.) pkg. caramels
  • 5 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 1/2 c. minced pecans

Method

  • Line 8 inch square pan with foil before beginning.
  • STEP 1: Heat one half of the chocolate morsels over warm (NOT BOILING) water along with 1 Tbsp.
  • shortening.
  • Stir over low heat till morsels heat and mix is smooth.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Pour into 8 inch pan and spread proportionately.
  • Chill till hard (about 20 min.)
  • STEP 2: Combine over boiling water the caramels, butter and 2 Tbsp.
  • water.r Stir till caramels are smooth and melted.
  • Stir in nuts till well blended.
  • Pour on top of chocolate layer and spread proportionately.
  • Chill till hard (about 30 min).
  • REPEAT STEP ONE.
  • STEP 3: After spreading last layer proportionately, return to chill and refrigeratetill completely hard (about 1 hour).
  • Cut in small squares.
  • Keep refrigerated till ready to use.
