Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 cup ORE-IDA Chopped Onions
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 cans (16 oz. each) red kidney beans, rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained

Method

  • Brown meat in large saucepan on medium heat; drain.
  • Return meat to pan.
  • Add onions, celery and garlic; cook 5 min.
  • or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
  • Stir in sugar and chili powder; cook 2 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Add beans and tomatoes; stir.
  • Bring to boil; cover.
  • Simmer on medium-low heat 30 min., stirring occasionally.
