Ingredients
- 1 lb. red or pinto beans
- 1 large piece salt pork
- 2 large hot chili peppers, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped up
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 can tomato paste
Method
- Wash beans and take out dirt or rocks.
- Place in a large bean pot or large cooking pot with lid.
- Cover beans with water.
- Add salt pork, cut into small pieces.
- Add chili peppers, onion, chili powder and tomato paste.
- Cook slowly until done or soft, overnight in bean pot (slow).
