Ingredients

  • 2 lb. very lean ground meat
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 to 3/4 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper
  • 2 to 3 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (10 oz.) can Ro-Tel tomatoes
  • 4 Tbsp. flour, dissolved in 2 c. water
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans Ranch Style chili beans

Method

  • In Dutch oven, brown ground meat.
  • Add chopped onion, garlic and green pepper; cook with meat until tender.
  • Add seasonings, tomato sauce and Ro-Tel tomatoes.
  • Cook mixture over medium heat about 15 minutes; stir as needed.
  • Add flour and water mixture. Stir often to prevent sticking or burning.
  • Cook 15 or 20 minutes. Add a little water, if needed.
  • Add beans; mix and heat thoroughly.
