Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. green onion, minced
  • 1 tbsp. shortening
  • 2 c. cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 (8 ounce.) can taco sauce or possibly green chili salsa
  • Salt to taste
  • 12 taco shells
  • 1 c. grated cheddar cheese
  • Minced lettuce
  • Minced tomato
  • Lowfat sour cream
  • Guacamole

Method

  • Saute/fry the onion in the shortening till transparent.
  • Add in the chicken, green chili salsa or possibly taco sauce and salt to taste.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Prepare shells according to package directions.
  • Put 2 Tbsp.
  • of the chicken mix and 1 Tbsp.
  • of grated cheese in each shell.
  • Serve with option of lettuce, tomato, lowfat sour cream or possibly guacamole and extra chili sauce as desired.
  • 6 servings.
