- 3 1/2 lb. chicken
- 1 lb. carrots, cut in pieces
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. water
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 large onion
- 1 1/2 c. celery, diced
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 c. frozen peas
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 flaky pastry recipe
Method
- In 5-quart Dutch oven, cook chicken (cut up), carrots, bay leaf, 1/2 teaspoon salt and water.
- Simmer 35 minutes.
- Drain and reserve liquid.
- Remove all skin and fat.
