Ingredients

  • 3 lb. fryer chicken
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • 3 c. thin cream
  • 1/8 tsp. soda

Method

  • Cut chicken in serving pieces and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Melt the butter in large frying pan or Dutch oven.
  • Add the onions and place the chicken over onions.
  • Cover.
  • Cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Peel and chop tomatoes, then combine with paprika and stir lightly.
  • Cook 10 minutes.
  • Mix cream with soda and pour over chicken.
  • Cook for another 35 minutes.
  • Remove chicken, strain the sauce and pour over chicken.
