Ingredients
- 1 c. elbow macaroni
- butter
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. cooked, diced chicken
- 4 slices cheese
Method
- Cook macaroni and drain.
- Melt butter in saucepan.
- Add onion and cook over low heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
- Add milk gradually and cook until thickened.
- Place half macaroni in greased 2-quart casserole dish and half chicken over macaroni.
- Repeat.
- Arrange cheese on top, pour sauce over casserole.
- Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
