Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread (slightly stale or toasted)
  • 2 c. cooked chicken, chopped
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 can soup (cream of mushroom, cream of chicken or cream of celery)

Method

  • Crumble 3 slices of bread and place in bottom of casserole. Chop chicken and place over crumbs.
  • Combine mayonnaise, eggs, milk, chopped peppers, celery, onion and salt.
  • Pour over chicken. Spoon soup over all.
  • Crumble 3 remaining slices of bread and put on top.
  • Chill one hour or overnight.
  • Bake 50 minutes at 325°.
