Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 1/2 to 3 lb. cut-up fryer
  • 1 (4 oz.) can drained mushrooms
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 to 2 tsp. oregano leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. celery

Method

  • Place onion in crock-pot.
  • Add chicken.
  • Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chicken.
  • Cook on low for 7 to 9 hours; high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Good served over hot buttered spaghetti. May also be cooked in the oven.
