Ingredients

  • tart apples 3 lg., sliced
  • 12 ounces pitted cherries sour, drained
  • 1 cup flour unsifted
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter

Method

  • Combine apples and cherries.
  • Arrange in greased 2-quart shallow baking dish.
  • In a bowl combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Cut in butter using pastry blender or 2 knives.
  • Sprinkle over fruit.
  • Bake in 375 degree oven for 30-35 minutes until apples are tender.
  • Serve with whipped cream.
