Ingredients

  • 85 g butter
  • 115 g grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 150 ml plain yogurt
  • black pepper
  • 225 g rolled oats

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 350F, 180C, gas mark 4.
  • Lightly oil an 18cm (7in)square cake tin.
  • Melt 85g (3oz) butter in a large pan.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in 115g (4oz) grated cheddar cheese, 1 large egg, beaten, 150ml (1/4pt) natural yogurt, black pepper and 225g (8oz) rolled oats until well blended.
  • Spoon into the prepared tin and level the surface.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until golden.
  • Remove from the heat and allow to cool in tin.
  • Cut into 9 squares.
