Ingredients
- 8 oz. extra sharp cheese
- 1 stick oleo
- 1 3/4 c. flour (plain)
- 1/8 tsp. red pepper
- pinch of salt
Method
- Grate cheese into large bowl and let stand at room temperature until softened.
- Add oleo.
- Mix salt, pepper and flour.
- Gradually work into cheese-butter mixture.
- Blend until smooth.
- Using a cookie press, squeeze out cheese straws onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Cut into 2 to 3-inch lengths.
- Bake for about 15 minutes until crisp and golden.
- Do not allow to brown.
