- 4 oz. German chocolate
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Melt chocolate with 3 tablespoons of margarine.
- Stir and cool.
- Cream 2 tablespoons of margarine with cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar.
- Beat until fluffy.
- Add 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.
- Set aside.
- Beat 2 eggs until light.
- Slowly beat in 1 cup of sugar.
- Add baking powder, salt and 1/2 cup flour.
- Blend in chocolate mixture.
- Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
- Spread 1/2 batter in a greased 8 or 9-inch square pan. Top with cream cheese mixture.
- Spoon rest of chocolate mixture over top.
- Zigzag with knife through batter.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350° until done, but moist.
