Ingredients

  • 1 c. grits, prepared according to directions
  • 1/4 lb. butter, melted
  • 3/4 lb. Cheddar or American cheese, grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 to 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Method

  • Fold butter, grated cheese, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and garlic into prepared grits.
  • Beat egg whites to form stiff peaks; fold into grit mixture.
  • Pour into greased casserole dish.
  • Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
