Ingredients

  • 4 red onions, quartered
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • finely snipped chives

Method

  • Slice onions and chop garlic. In large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and stir well.
  • Cook, stirring, until onions are browned and caramelized, about 25 minutes.
  • Combine onions, cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt and pepper in food processor. Process until well blended, about 30 seconds.
