Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 c. butter, softened
  • 4 c. pecan halves, whole or chopped
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. evaporated milk or cream
  • 1/2 c. honey

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Place cake mix in large bowl and cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press into bottom of ungreased 15 x 10-inch pan.
  • Top with pecans.
  • In heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and honey.
  • Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Boil 3 minutes; remove from heat.
  • Stir in cream until well blended. Pour hot mixture evenly over pecans.
  • Bake at 350°
  • for 17 to 22 minutes until entire surface is bubbly.
  • Cool completely before cutting into 48 bars.
