Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
- 4 c. pecan halves, whole or chopped
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. evaporated milk or cream
- 1/2 c. honey
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Place cake mix in large bowl and cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press into bottom of ungreased 15 x 10-inch pan.
- Top with pecans.
- In heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and honey.
- Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Boil 3 minutes; remove from heat.
- Stir in cream until well blended. Pour hot mixture evenly over pecans.
- Bake at 350°
- for 17 to 22 minutes until entire surface is bubbly.
- Cool completely before cutting into 48 bars.
