Ingredients
- 14 oz. caramels
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 6 or 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. melted oleo
- 1/3 c. evaporated milk
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Melt caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk over low heat.
- Mix together the cake mix, oleo and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
- Pat 1/2 of chocolate mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake 6 or 7 minutes.
- Remove from oven and pour melted caramel over chocolate mixture.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel.
- Pat remaining chocolate mixture over caramel and chips. Bake 15 to 20 minutes more.
- Refrigerate after cooling before cutting.
