Ingredients
- 6 qt. popped corn (1/2 c. unpopped kernels yields 4 qt. popped corn)
- 2 c. peanuts
- 1 c. margarine
- 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Preheat oven to 250°.
- Grease large roasting pan.
- Pour popped corn and peanuts in pan.
- In saucepan on top of stove, melt margarine.
- Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Boil without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in baking soda and vanilla.
- Gradually pour over popcorn, mixing well.
- Bake 1 hour; stir every 15 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Break apart.
- Store covered.
