Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz.) bag Kraft caramels
  • 1 (5 oz.) evaporated milk
  • 1 SuperMoist German chocolate cake mix
  • 2/3 c. margarine, melted
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. flaked coconut

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Melt together 1/4 cup evaporated milk and caramels.
  • Keep warm over low heat.
  • Mix dry cake mix with remaining milk, melted margarine and nuts.
  • Spread 1/2 of mixture in 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Bake 6 minutes.
  • Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips and coconut on baked cake mix.
  • Drizzle melted caramel mixture over top.
  • Drop remaining cake mixture randomly in small amounts over caramel drizzle.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Cool. Refrigerate until firm and cut into squares.
