Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c. melted margarine
  • 48 caramels
  • 10 Tbsp. half and half
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Method

  • Mix flour, oatmeal, sugar, salt, soda and margarine.
  • Divide mixture in half.
  • Use 1/2 for bottom crust.
  • Pat into pan and bake for 10 minutes at 350°.
  • Melt caramels and milk.
  • Spread this on baked crust and sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top. Top with remaining crust mixture.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350°.
