Ingredients
- 6 medium red apples
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. dark corn syrup
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. light cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- nuts (if desired)
Method
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and 1/2 cup cream.
- Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves; add mixture.
- When it comes to a full boil, add rest of cream.
- Cook to very hard boil stage (254°) without stirring.
- Remove from heat; add vanilla.
- Dip apples into syrup (work fast).
- Roll in coarsely chopped nuts. Place upright on well-greased cookie sheet to cool.
