Ingredients

  • 4 16-ounce Cans Pork And Beans
  • 1/2 Cup Regular Molasses
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 6-8 Strips Bacon

Method

  • Preheat oven to 300F
  • Pour beans into a large bowl.
  • Add molasses and brown sugar.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour beans into a greased 13 x 9 baking dish.
  • Lay raw bacon strips across top of beans to cover.
  • Bake at 300F for 2 to 3 hours, or until bacon is dark and beans are tender, rich and thick.
  • Note: Taste beans after 2 hours.
  • Cooking too long will cause beans to become dry.
  • Mine are usually done in 2-1/2 hours.
  • I also use a good brand of bacon that is a bit more lean.
  • The salty flavor of the bacon and rich sweetness of the beans is addicting!
  • Family and friends call them Those beans!
