- 4 qt. water
- 1 large lemon, quartered
- 5 lb. unpeeled large fresh shrimp
- 2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/4 c. hot sauce
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. Old Bay
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried whole basil
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried whole oregano
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried whole thyme
- 1 1/2 tsp. minced fresh parsley
- red leaf lettuce
Method
- Bring water and lemon to a boil; add shrimp and cook 3 to 5 minutes.
- Drain well.
- Rinse with ice cold water.
- Peel and devein shrimp; place in a large bowl or gallon size Ziploc bag.
- Combine remaining ingredients except lettuce.
- Beat with a wire whisk. Pour over shrimp and toss.
- Cover.
- Chill 8 hours.
- Drain shrimp; serve in a lettuce-lined bowl.
