Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Method

  • Sift together flour and sugar.
  • Boil margarine, water and cocoa.
  • Pour this over the flour sugar mixture and beat 2 minutes. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla.
  • Beat 2 minutes.
  • Pour into greased and floured 11 x 17-inch pan (jelly roll pan).
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
