Ingredients
- 8 slices bread (remove crust and butter both sides)
- 1 lb. bacon, browned and crumbled (could use sausage or ham)
- 1 small onion, chopped and browned
- 1 (8 oz.) shredded American cheese
- 12 eggs, well beaten
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. pepper and salt
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
Method
- Arrange buttered bread in well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Cut bread to cover entire pan.
- Sprinkle cooked bacon over bread. Brown onion and sprinkle over bread, then the cheese.
- Mix eggs, milk, pepper, salt and dry mustard.
- Pour egg mixture over entire pan.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
